Simo insists his leaders will get back firing again

YOU CAN TAKE IT TO THE BLANK

SIMO VALAKARI saw his stuttering Saints draw a blank again then vowed they will be back on the goals trail soon.

Ross County held the title chasers at bay with a solid defensive display, just a week after Ayr had held St Johnstone to a McDiarmid Park stalemate.

Saints dominated here but with strike duo Adama Sidibeh and Uche Ikpeazu both away on international duty, they struggled to turn their pressure into goals.

Valakari, though, wasn't overly worried about that.

He said: "It's important nobody gets frustrated - not the club, not the players and not the fans.

"The fan understood. They cheered the boys until the end.

"They know that the goals will come when we play like this.

"We need to keep a calm head and enjoy this moment.

"It's not easy to play the way we play. Yes, we need the tools to unlock these defences and we will keep working on it every day.
