Late Fir Park double blow a sickener for Dons boss

- ANDY McGILVRAY AT FIR PARK

SUPER sub Johnny Koutroumbis was the hero as Motherwell bagged their first Premiership win of the season.

Well bagged the win their play deserved in stoppage time when Dons keeper Dimitar Mitov let Koutroumbis’ shot squirm through his legs.

Aberdeen dominated the first half, in terms of chances, but didn't pose too much of a threat. Kevin Nisbet had a header well saved and a lot shot held, and Nicky Devlin had a pointblank header cleared off the line.

Motherwell had plenty of possession but didn't force a save from Dimitar Mitov in the first 45.

The second half was more even but Apostolos Stamatelopoulos passed up a gilt-edged chance to open the scoring, just after the hour mark.

Motherwell boss Jens Berthel Askou kept faith in the side that knocked Aberdeen out of the Premier Sports Cup quarterfinals last weekend.
