NEIL LENNON insists an overdue victory over Saints shows exactly what his young Pars are capable of.

Robbie Fraser fired Dunfermline up to fourth with a 50th-minute winner.

It’s a result Lennon says his team had threatened in two previous meetings with the league leaders.

Pars were 1-0 up at the break at McDiarmid Park in September before crashing 2-1.

And the sides played out a quality 2-2 thriller at East End Park six weeks later.

This time the Fifers delivered a statement win for their promotion claims.

Lennon said: “We owed St Johnstone one, because the games against them have been terrific this season.

“We gave them a real good game here and, at East End Park, St Johnstone showed they were such a good team.
