Boss says Dons can still achieve big things

JIMMY THELIN has acknowledged fans' frustrations but insisted his goal-shy Aberdeen squad can still achieve something great this season.

The Dons picked up their first point in a goalless home draw with Livingston.

Aberdeen still sit bottom of the league without a win or a goal but Thelin is adamant the tide will turn when all his new signings gel.

He said: "We share the frustration with the fans. We feel the same. It is a frustrating period right now with the rhythm of the team, so we have to do much more.

"They (the fans) are arriving in a lot of numbers here today to see the game. It's our job, my job and the players' job is to give them the spirit and the feeling from the team and right now we aren't doing that.

"So we have to keep working really hard to get the rhythm of the team better. That's what we focus on right now taking step by step and trying to work us out of these results."
