CORPORATE SPEAK IS NOT FANS' LANGUAGE

A GAME of transparency ended in a one-nil win for Rangers against Celtic last week.

After the debate on whether we'd seen the worst ever Old Firm game, and the transfer window closed leaving Celtic fans dumbfounded, one club came clean on their feelings and the other took a vow of silence.

Silence is sinister.

But public accountability can still be problematic.

The first soundbite broadcast by Ibrox sporting director Kevin Thelwell illustrated the problem.

It was all about a “huge amount of alignment” within the club and the leadership team at Ibrox.

It was corporate speak rather than punter speak.
