What is this life if full of care... Burdened with woes and many to spare?

The sentiment expressed above is an interfered-with first two lines of the Welsh poet W H Davies' poem 'Leisure' (1911), where he mourns the fact people do not stop to appreciate nature.
-
Mine is a groan about the state we in Paradise are in, notwithstanding the vast project to Clean Sri Lanka and bring happiness and decent living to its people. If the mourn is not enunciated, it rankles in the mind.
Each new morn brings more bad news; each telephone call utters an infection of a relative, accident, surgery to a friend, a death. Thus our despondency.
Public health
An American citizen of Lankan descent who returned to live in SL went to California to care for an American bhikkhuni. There she was met with cries of “How sick you seem!... “Your country is ridden with so many dread diseases.” Yes, she had suffered chickengunya and still showed signs of its virulent after effects. Maybe she will revert from helping her village and people here and resettle in that land.
Political Supremacy
This brings me onto a malady that ails this country that we love which could be wonderful in every way. The ailment is the eternal bid for political supremacy. Of course in normal times this is how it should be; and is. Each political party tries to outdo the other, gain support from the citizenry and be considered all for the people and for people's welfare. But our parties have demonstrated they take a different path and make no decisions; undertake no action; only find fault, criticize and oppose.
