Sir Keir's grooming gang U-turn 'without a budget'

A MAJOR probe into grooming gangs by “Britain’s FBI” has “no budget” and must have been “quickly planned on the back of a fag box”, sources have suggested.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer made a U-turn over holding a national inquiry into the scandal last weekend, ahead of the publication of Baroness Casey’s damning review which confirmed the majority of offenders were of Pakistani heritage. The review found evidence of multiple cases not being effectively investigated due to institutional fears of being labelled racists.

Before its publication last Monday, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper announced an extensive National Crime Agency probe would begin to target at least 800 historic grooming cases that “closed too early”.
