A FED-UP public has given the thumbs-down to the idea of Sir Tony Blair returning to frontline politics as Sir Keir Starmer’s foreign secretary.
Political historian Sir Anthony Seldon made the case earlier this year for bringing the former prime minister back into the Cabinet to restore the fortunes of under-fire Sir Keir Starmer.
But the public are not delighted by the thought of the triple election-winner returning to a government rocked by revelations about his former New Labour confidante Peter Mandelson.
A YouGov poll found 41% of Britons were “strongly opposed” and 15% “somewhat opposed” to such a comeback.
