PADDINGTON Bear stole the show as he closed Strictly Come Dancing's musical week quarter-final last night.

- JULIA KUTTNER

Amber strikes perfect gold...

The little bear from darkest Peru appeared alongside McFly star Tom Fletcher, who wrote the music for the hit West End musical Paddington.

The bear, who was created by author Michael Bond in 1958 and is also the star of a film franchise, made his Strictly debut before the remaining five celebrities and their professional partners took to the floor.

This included West End performer Amber Davies, 29, who danced the Charleston with her partner Nikita Kuzmin.

And they were given four 10s by the judges for their showstopping routine, with Anton Du Beke saying it was the "best performance he has ever seen on the show".
