Major boost for County’s stadium expansion plan

Club’s bid to add extra 7,400 seats to be discussed at council committee meeting

IT’S the major update Stockport County fans have been waiting for. The club's bid for a stadium expansion has edged closer to becoming reality with a positive response from council officials to the planning application.

A scheme to add an extra 7,400 seats to Edgeley Park will be discussed by councillors at the Central Stockport Area Committee meeting at the town hall on Thursday.

Papers published ahead of the meeting show that Stockport council officers are requesting councillors give a recommendation of approval.
