JU organises interactive parenting program on 'Parenting for a Healthier Today and Tomorrow'

JAMMU: The Department of Home Science, University of Jammu (JU), on Monday organized an interactive Parent Empowerment Program for the parents of children enrolled at Surabhi Nursery School and Day Care Centre.

The program aimed to provide parents with practical insights, promote mindful parenting, enhance awareness of child health and development, and strengthen the parent-educator partnership.
It focused on empowering parents with knowledge and strategies essential for nurturing healthier families and well-rounded children.
The event began with a warm welcome address by the Head of the Department of Home Science, Prof. Sarika Manhas, who spoke about the critical role of mindful parenting in shaping children's emotional, physical, and social development. She emphasized that parents are the first role models for their children and that their influence plays a lasting role in how children view themselves and the world around them.
