JMC observes World Environment Day with citywide call to end plastic pollution

In a proactive and community-centric observance of World Environment Day 2025, the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), under the leadership of Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, organized a series of impactful events focusing on the theme of "Ending Plastic Pollution Globally.

Community-Led Initiative in Palm Reveria, Sidhra was held on May 31, 2025, in collaboration with the Residents' Welfare Association (RWA) of Palm Reveria, Sidhra (Ward No. 71) in which JMC conducted an awareness program on waste segregation, effective waste disposal, and the harmful effects of single-use plastic. Residents pledged to make their society a plastic-free zone.

Swaaha IEC Executives demonstrated proper waste management techniques. Dr. Divya Sharma (VAS) and Sanitation Officer Arun Nayar appreciated the community's efforts and highlighted the importance of local participation in environmental protection.
