CUJ organises Panel Discussion on Trump's Tariff

The Department of Educational Studies, Central University of Jammu (CUJ) organized a compelling panel discussion titled "Economic Consequences of Trump's Tariffs: A Global and Indian Perspective" under the academic platform, Shiksha Shastrarth held at Pt. Malviya Shiksha Bhawan, here on Wednesday.

The event was conducted under the esteemed patronage of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, and brought together academicians, faculty members, scholars and students for a thought-provoking engagement with one of the most debated economic policies of the 21st century.

The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp (Deep Prajwalan) and Pushpanjali ceremony, following a formal welcome and contextual introduction to the theme by the Head of the Department, Prof. Asit K. Mantry wherein he welcomed the distinguished panellists and participants.

He highlighted the significance of the Shiksha Shastrarth platform as a meaningful space for academic dialogue and critical engagement.

Prof. Mantry also focused on the multifaceted impacts of U.S President Donald Trump's tariff policies on global trade dynamics, with particular emphasis on the Indian economy and also emphasized the evolving identity of human beings as 'economic beings' over the classical definition of 'social animals.'
