JAMMU: Senior BJP leader and former General Secretary of the 1947 POJK Sharanarthi Intellectual Forum, Suyjit Singh, on Thursday extended gratitude to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa for their historic initiative of offering government jobs to families affected by the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

At a ceremony held on May 27, 2025, at the Delhi Secretariat, 19 individuals from riot-affected families were handed appointment letters for Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) roles in the Revenue Department. This is part of a broader drive to provide employment to 125 individuals from the affected community.

Surjit Singh hailed the initiative as a monumental step toward justice and healing for the Sikh community.
