Chennai: Gleneagles Hospital, one of the leading multi-speciality hospitals in Chennai breakthrough a remarkable case that underscores the importance of regular health screenings. Doctors diagnosed a rare case of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in the abdominal wall of a 63-year-old woman during a routine follow-up for liver disease. Due to the early detection and timely treatment by the doctors, the patient led to a complete recovery after six cycles of chemotherapy.

The patient had been on long-term follow-up for chronic liver disease when, during a regular outpatient visit, a clinical examination revealed a small lump on her abdominal wall. She had first noticed the lump two years earlier when it was the size of a peanut, but it had since grown to the size of a lemon. A CT scan and biopsy confirmed the mass to be Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer that usually affects lymph nodes but can also appear in other tissues.
