What's my game? Why rapper Snoop has invested in the Swans

HIP-HOP icon Snoop Dogg has said the Swansea City story and the club's working-class background helped persuade him to invest in the club.

As reported yesterday, the size of the rapper's stake isn't yet known, but his involvement is a potentially tremendous, albeit slightly surreal, commercial coup for the club.

The news brings an end to speculation over a possible investment, which has swirled ever since the star helped to launch Swansea's new home kit over the weekend, in a move that predictably sparked a big reaction among supporters.

Commenting on the move, Snoop Dogg said: "My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City.

"The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me. This is a proud, working class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me.

"I'm proud to be part of Swansea City. I am going to do all I can to help the club, and I look forward to getting to know all my YJBs."
