A MAN bombarded an ex-partner with hundreds of abusive and threatening messages after their relationship ended, a court has heard.

Ross Milward then went on to threaten to glass another woman who he had been seeing for a matter of days after she said she would be late for a date.

Swansea Crown Court heard the defendant had a string of previous convictions for offences against former partners, prompting a judge to say: “It begs the question why any woman would want anything to do with him?”

Sian Cutter, prosecuting, told the court that in December last year Milward and his partner separated though kept in contact.

She said in early February Milward began messaging his ex threatening to kill himself before turning up at her home uninvited and gaining entry by telling the social worker who opened the door that he was a neighbour collecting a parcel.

The court heard the police were contacted and the 39-year-old defendant was arrested before being released on bail on condition that he not contact his former girlfriend.

However, Milward then began bombarding the woman with hundreds of calls and voicemails - including ringing her 131 times in just two days - and the court heard many of the messages were threatening and abusive.
