South Wales Evening Post

September 02, 2025

THOUSANDS of young people in Wales can now benefit from a Welsh Government scheme giving all young people in Wales aged between 16 and 21 the entitlement to discounted bus fares.

- HOLLY MORGAN Reporter

As part of a pilot scheme, which started yesterday, single fares for those in this age group will cost £1 and there will be £3 day tickets made available too.

In order to take advantage of the discounted bus fares, young people are reminded that they need to sign up for a free mytravelpass.

This month, the scheme will only be available for those aged between 16 and 21, but it will be extended for children aged between 11 and 15 in November.
