A TEENAGE bully robbed a fellow passenger in a busy bus station in the middle of the day before letting the victim's girlfriend have a couple of the items back.

- JASON EVANS Court and crime reporter

The incident was the result of an argument over an Xbox game, the teenager’s lawyer told his sentencing hearing.

As other passengers looked on Ashley Sebastian-Jones slapped his victim, grabbed him by the neck, and then stole his bag containing his bank card and possessions.

A judge at Swansea Crown Court told the defendant that she had come to the conclusion he had been “showing off” in the bus waiting room and was trying to embarrass the complainant and “exert dominance over him”.

The court heard that at lunchtime on July 11 last year the victim and his girlfriend were in the waiting room at Carmarthen bus station. Also sat in the waiting room was Sebastian-Jones, who was known to the complainant.

The court heard the then 17-year-old defendant stared at his victim “for several minutes” before getting up and locking the waiting room door.

He then approached the complainant and assaulted him by slapping him to the face “forcefully”, grabbing him by the neck and squeezing, and then snatching his bag.
