Saints edge closer to ending long title wait as nearest rivals come unstuck
South Wales Evening Post

THE long wait for title glory looks to be coming to an end for Victoria Saints.
-
The Saints are firm favourites to claim the Swansea Fish Bowling League crown, finally getting their hands back on the trophy they last lifted back in 2012.
The Saints faced a tricky match when they travelled to play Dyfatty, and although they only won on one rink, they managed to come away with a victory.
And they received a further boost with the news that close rivals Dunvant Druids had suffered defeat.
The rink skipped by Kai Higgins was the difference in the Dyfatty match, winning 34-12 against Luke Marks.
Dyfatty’s Roy Green skipped his rink to a 23-21 win against John Higgins and Russell Smith and Paul Morris drew 23-23.
It meant Victoria won the match 78-58 and took the points 8-4.
Dunvant entered the weekend in second place as they looked to get back to winning ways when hosting Swansea BC.
But they suffered a second defeat on the trot, losing on all rinks to go down 74-54.
They only picked up one point from the contest, with 11 going to Swansea.
This heavy defeat has severely dented Dunvant's chances of retaining the title they won last season.
Rink scores: Andrew Jones 17-21 John Bryant, Paul Rees 14-27 Steve Adams, Rob Richards 23-26 Mike Hartnoll.
Sketty were at home to Bonymaen with the visitors looking for a win after losing at home to Jersey in their previous match.
