TWO men with “appalling” records for dwelling-house burglaries went on a late-night spree targeting properties in Swansea.

After trying multiple houses, Daniel Ellis, 34, successfully stole a car and a wallet, leaving the owner feeling unsafe in his own home.

Swansea Crown Court heard how just before midnight on August 7 Ellis and Lee Hanbury left Tudor Court Hotel in Swansea and made their way to residential streets in the north of the city.

In the very early hours of August 8, CCTV and Ring doorbell footage captured on Danygraig Road showed Ellis walking down a front garden and towards a property which had no connection to him.

The court heard how Ellis tried the front door while Hanbury kept a look out. Hanbury put on some gloves and both had their hoods up.

Further along the road, the pair did the same thing. Ellis went up the garden path of the property with Hanbury looking out.

CCTV captured Hanbury making a gesture towards Ellis, clearly alerting him to the fact CCTV cameras were filming them.
