Flats and cafe hopes for chapel

A HISTORIC Welsh chapel could be transformed under revived plans to turn it into flats, a commercial market hall and a cafe.
Navid Hasan, of TSQ Properties Ltd, has asked Swansea Council for the go-ahead to carry out the transformation at Bethania Welsh Presbyterian Chapel on Woodfield Street in Morriston, Swansea.
Planning documents, submitted to the council by agents ADI Design on behalf of the applicants, also ask for permission for the partial demolition of rear buildings and change of use of the disused chapel, which was built in 1878.
The scheme was knocked back in December last year after planning officers felt it would significantly overlook two nearby properties.
