Drug dealer says sorry for 'demons' created for others

A DRUG dealer was peddling heroin adulterated with a powerful animal sedative, a court has heard. Jake Tipping was caught after a woman told police that men had moved into her house and were making her sell drugs on the streets.

The defendant's barrister told Swansea Crown Court that Tipping had moved to Swansea to be closer to his children and “to improve himself and to prove himself” to his former partner but had fallen in with the “wrong crowd” and found himself with control of a drug phone.

Brian Simpson, prosecuting, said on February 20 this year police in Swansea saw a woman carrying out a drug deal on the street and approached her. He said the woman told officers two men had moved into her home and had, in effect, coerced her into dealing.

The court heard officers went to the woman's property on Grandison Street in Hafod and let themselves in. At the address officers found Tipping along with a number of wraps of powder which turned out to be heroin adulterated with the powerful veterinarian sedative medetomidine.

Officers also seized £525 in cash along with a mobile phone which was noted to be “constantly ringing”.
