TRIBUTES have been flooding in for a popular rugby player and dad who has died following his battle with cancer.

- HOLLY MORGAN

Andrew Spittle, 44, died in October after a battle with kidney cancer which had spread to his brain.

Andrew, a father-of-two and loving husband from Neath, has been described by his best friend as “the nicest person you'd ever meet”

Andrew received his cancer diagnosis around 18 months ago. He had surgeries to remove one of his brain tumours at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, and even though it was successful, more appeared.

His best friend Neil Freeman said Andrew battled the illness courageously, and he even went rugby training with Tonna RFC during his treatment before he eventually became too weak.

Neil described Andrew as a loving husband to his wife Michelle and a amazing dad to his two daughters Olivia and Ella.
