Farmers take time out to showcase all they have to offer

LINCOLNSHIRE farmers have shared why it’s crucial for people to understand where their food comes from and the importance of the agricultural sector in daily life.

Farmers across the UK are currently experiencing a number of challenges, from financial pressures like tax changes and increased costs to concerns surrounding unpredictable weather and mental health.

Lincolnshire is a major agriculture area for the UK, with more than 4,500 farms across the county. Each year the local agriculture community is celebrated at the annual Lincolnshire Show, which gives farmers a chance to catch up with one another whilst also educating the general public on the sector.

Andrew Ward runs a farm in Lead-enham, near Sleaford, and grows crops for cereals and sugar beet. Speaking to Lincolnshire Live at the show, Mr Ward said: “Lincolnshire Show has been going for 140 years and it just shows with how many people here how highly it is thought of.”
