- By IVAN MORRIS POXTON Local Democracy Reporter

THE Government has announced recipients of cash for vital repairs to local schools and hospitals in northern Lincolnshire.

Through the Estates Safety Fund, £5.8m is being provided for key repairs at Scunthorpe General Hospital and Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby.

Meanwhile, 53 projects across Yorkshire and Humber are sharing between them £21.5m Condition Improvement Fund cash for repairs to educational institutes.

This includes five schools in North Lincolnshire.

The £5.8m hospital repairs cash is designated for improvements to internal building fabric and fixtures, medical gas systems, electrical and energy systems, as well as fire safety and roof works.

Combined with funding for Hull Royal Infirmary Hospital repairs, including to its lifts, the NHS Humber Health Partnership has been awarded £9.7m to invest in improving its hospitals through the Estates Safety Fund.
