Police launch probe after body found

POLICE have launched an investigation following the discovery of human remains.

The grim find was made in North Lanarkshire early yesterday morning by a man out walking his dog, sparking a wide-scale investigation.

The probe is centred on the Calder Road area of Motherwell, which was immediately closed to traffic, along with a number of other adjoining routes, while inquiries were conducted.

Police have yet to reveal any details of the discovery, including sex, age, injuries or how long they believe the victim to have been dead for.
