Comeback king John is on a roll

COMEBACK king John Higgins rolled back the years with a vintage display to leave himself within touching distance of a historic hat-trick of Masters titles.

The courageous Wizard of Wishaw, 50, recovered from 3-0 and 5-3 down to beat bogeyman Judd Trump 6-5 in an Ally Pally classic.

It has been 15 years since Higgins pocketed one of snooker's Triple Crown majors and, with a special win, he became the oldest-ever Triple Crown finalist in the sport's illustrious history.

“I don't know how I've won that to be honest,” said an emotional Higgins, who punched the air in delight after his dramatic final-frame win.
