Vardy's mapped out international route, says hitman Murray

SIMON MURRAY is a fan on a mission to keep his boyhood club in the top flight.

That's certainly the short-term target, and the Dundee striker will spearhead the attack at Hearts this weekend at the start of a five-game post-split push for Premiership safety.

But if he continues his current scoring streak between now and the middle of May, he could find himself in the mix for Steve Clarke's Scotland squad for the end-of-season friendlies against Iceland and Liechtenstein.

At the age of 33 and having spent a career knocking around outfits such as Montrose, Dundee Violet, Arbroath, Queen's Park and Ross County, it seems like an unlikely route to the international stage.
