UK economy set to rebound despite US exports gloom

THE economy is expected to return to growth after two months of declines amid concerns about the impact of President Donald Trump's tariffs.

Economists polled by Bloomberg expect the Office for National Statistics to post UK growth of 0.2% for June when the figures are released on Thursday.

The ONS will also provide an estimate for the second quarter of the year. It said the economy contracted by 0.3% in April and 0.1% in May as businesses were hit by the sudden global trade war.
