Trump blasts Ukraine's 'zero gratitude' as US peace plan branded a 'wish list' for Putin

DONALD Trump blasted Ukraine’s leaders after a US-backed peace plan failed to gain traction with Kyiv and its European allies.

Ukrainian and Western officials met in Geneva to discuss the proposals which have been criticised as a wish list for Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

The US president said on his social media platform: “Ukraine’s ‘leadership’ has expressed zero gratitude for our efforts, and Europe continues to buy oil from Russia.

“The US continues to sell massive amounts of weapons to Nato for distribution to Ukraine.”

However, Sir Keir Starmer and Mr Trump spoke yesterday and agreed to work together for peace.

Downing Street stated the pair discussed “various aspects” of the highlevel talks in Switzerland. “They agreed that we all must work together at this critical moment to bring about a just and lasting peace,” No 10 said.
