Tiers of joy for autumnal oasis

John Massey, 76, has spent more than 30 years tending his 10-acre oasis of 20,000 plants, trees and shrubs in Dudley, West Midlands.

The four-time Chelsea Flower Show winner sometimes spends 15 hours a day tending his flowers and says it’s a seven day-a-week job.

This autumn, John's labour of love is dominated by more than 100 varieties of chrysanthemums brimming with various shades.
