DANILO hopes Russell Martin's advice can help him cement his slot as Rangers' No.1 striker.

The Brazilian ace is set to lead the line for the Ibrox side in today's Premier Sports Cup opener at home to Alloa.

With Cyriel Dessers injured and Hamza Igamane coming back from a knock of his own, the former Feyenoord frontman is likely to get the nod to take on the Wasps.

And he hopes to get off the mark for the season and prove to Martin that he can be the answer to Rangers' recent scoring issues.

Gers have yet to net from open play in the Premiership two games into the new season, but Danilo said: "With Cyriel and Hamza away, I'm ready to step up and show my qualities.
