Rock god's homecoming

A COUPLE of minutes into tonight's documentary SHARON & OZZY OSBOURNE: COMING HOME (BBC1, 9pm), Sharon says something rather sweet about herself and her beloved rock legend of a husband.

“We're quite boring, really,” she insists, “when it comes down to it.”

It’s nonsense, of course, and I’m fairly sure she knows it. For one thing, boring people tend not to be followed around by a camera crew, as the Osbournes were for the three years over which this programme was filmed (if rather less intensely than the three when the family were huge reality TV stars, back in the early 2000s).

But whether or not we agree with her, what's telling is her unapologetic tone.
