Councillor blasts Nats for veterans complaint

A REFORM UK councillor has told the SNP he and his party are “going nowhere” after a Nat submitted an official complaint about him holding a special surgery for veterans.

Thomas Kerr hosted the event on October 1 after being invited by the Scottish Veterans Residency in Cranhill, Glasgow. It allowed those who had served in the armed forces to raise concerns about issues like housing, addiction and health facilities.

But because Cllr Kerr held it outwith his ward, SNP member Cllr Declan Blench reported him to the Ethical Standards Committee (ESC).

Now the complaint has been thrown out and Cllr Kerr blasted: “The SNP can attempt to silence me as much as they like but it'll never work. I always put Glasgow's East End first and they better get used to it.
