I NOTICED the leaves turning on the horse chestnuts three weeks ago, meaning there will be hydrangeas to be deadheaded and raking to be done soon and whatever else Monty Don tells me to get my husband to do, in order to prepare the garden for the colder months.
So I will be watching GARDENERS’ WORLD (BBC2, 8pm) tonight with pad in hand, jotting down all Monty’s good ideas to pass on to my other half, keeping him busy while I catch up on Corrie with a cuppa.
