Nicola says she was on brink of a breakdown during UK Covid Inquiry

NICOLA STURGEON admitted that her appearance at the UK Covid Inquiry — where she faced claims that she used the pandemic to push for Scottish independence and deleted messages relating to policy-making — drove her to the brink of a breakdown.

She says she spent weeks crying after her controversial evidence session.

The former First Minister spent a full day being grilled by lawyers during the probe, with lead counsel Jamie Dawson particularly effective in skewering her for broken promises and SNP failures.

It left her in tears twice as she denied covering up and not telling the truth to Scots.

One of the biggest revelations was the fact that she manually wiped messages relating to policy-making and planning during the pandemic, despite vowing live on national TV to hand over everything when an inquiry was launched.
