STAND kneesy! The King paid tribute to the "courage, fortitude and spirit" of the Coldstream Guards ahead of the regiment's key role in Trooping the Colour today.
His praise came as he presented new Colours to the 1st and 2nd Battalions at Windsor Castle.
Troops paraded in the hot sun before the King's official birthday weekend celebrations in London.
All senior royals, including the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children, are expected.
The King is Colonel-in-Chief of the Coldstream Guards, who are celebrating their 375th year.
