DAVIE MARTINDALE wants Scottish football to take a hardline stance on the growing issue of fan misbehaviour by ejecting fans who hurl verbal abuse.

Less than a week after Aberdeen defender Jack MacKenzie was hit by a seat thrown by a supporter following last weekend’s match at Dundee United, a Livingston fan was accused of spitting on Ross County assistant boss Carl Tremarco at the end of Thursday night’s 1-1 draw between the sides in the first leg of the Premiership play-off final.

Livi manager Martindale believes some football supporters have become so “entitled” they feel they can behave any way they want inside a stadium.

Police Scotland are investigating the Livi incident and the supporter in question is facing a lifetime ban from the club, with chief executive Dave Black posting on X: "Utterly disgusted and embarrassed by the actions of the idiot in the home end at the end of the game.
