FORMER rugby league star Kevin Sinfield ran 27.9 miles through rain and icy winds on the first leg of his ultramarathon challenge for motor neurone disease.
Rob Burrow died aged just 41
He set out yesterday on the first of seven back-to-back ultramarathons, 18 months after the disease killed his best friend Rob Burrow at 41.
Kevin, 45, was cheered by crowds from Bury St Edmunds to Ipswich and was met by ex-Ipswich striker Marcus Stewart, 53, who has MND.
