Rodgers rails at VAR howler as Braga plunder points

BRENDAN RODGERS was left baffled by a VAR shocker as Celtic's Europa League hopes took a bashing off Braga.

The Hoops slumped to a damaging 2-0 defeat in Glasgow but were left stunned after Kelechi Iheanacho was denied a second half leveller due to a bizarre handball call.

Hoops legend Chris Sutton branded the flash point “the worst decision of all time” as Ref Tobias Steiler ruled out the strike - and VAR Christian Dingert inexplicably backed up the call.

The Hoops were left chasing after Ricardo Horta’s 35-yard stunner left Kasper Schmeichel flummoxed and were denied a route back by the dodgy call.

And Celts paid the price for missed chances when Gabri Martinez sealed it with a late second.

The Hoops boss admitted he's chasing solutions after another blunt display, but insists his men were denied a legitimate route back into the game.
