Kelechi is perfect fit for the Hoops, says legend Finidi

KELECHI IHEANACHO has spent most of his career as a leading man - only to be left in a supporting role in recent times.

But Nigeria legend Finidi George is convinced the striker has found the perfect stage to shine on again at Parkhead.

Theanacho’s arrival at Celtic a day after transfer deadline day did little to lift the mood among a Hoops fanbase left fuming at the cracks in the window.

The Nigeria frontman may have hit great heights during his times with Manchester City and Leicester, but he suffered during his spell at Sevilla and had an even more miserable time at Middlesbrough on loan.

There were grumbles about the form and fitness of a player who was a favourite for seven seasons with the Foxes and forever hailed a hero for his part in the club’s FA Cup win under Brendan Rodgers.

The manager turned to his former charge when time and options were running out on deadline day and some punters reckon Iheanacho’s signing was a sign of desperation.

But former Super Eagles star George — who was part of the famous Ajax Champions League winning side in the 90s - is convinced this is a match made in heaven for his old mate.
