SLOT BACKS SKIPPER VIRGIL AGAINST OWEN
ARNE SLOT has hit back at the suggestion that "only" winning the Premier League title this season is not enough for Liverpool.
The Reds will look to take another step towards securing their 20th English top-flight crown when they face Fulham tomorrow.
But captain Virgil van Dijk had to correct former Liverpool striker Michael Owen, right, in an interview this week following the win against Everton.
Owen said the Reds were building the season into "something really special" until a Champions League exit in the last 16 and their defeat in the Carabao Cup final, an opinion rebuked by Van Dijk.
Head coach Slot backed up his skipper, saying: "Let me understand it right. Virgil was a bit frustrated because it came across as it's not enough to only win the Premier League?
