House-shaking explosion and huge fire in Methil harbour

RESIDENTS in Fife reported a house-shaking explosion as a huge fire broke out, destroying a number of HGVs and trailers.

Firefighters were called out to tackle the massive blaze at Methil Harbour shortly after 9am yesterday.

At one stage, seven fire engines were on the scene along with police and ambulance crews.

Local residents, who reported hearing a huge bang, were asked to keep their doors and windows closed as a precaution.
