Star bats for appeal after 2022 horror car crash

FREDDIE Flintoff has backed a campaign to help more hospitals get helipads after his own experience of an emergency airlift following his 2022 car crash.

The former cricket star, 47, sustained severe injuries while filming at the Dunsfold Aerodrome, Surrey, for an episode of BBC show Top Gear.

He was flown to Tooting’s St George’s Hospital, a major trauma centre. The helipad at the hospital was funded by a campaign with the Helicopter Emergency Landing Pads Appeal.
