Family slams SNP's NHS after gran, 91, dies in hospital toilet

A HEARTBROKEN family has slammed the SNP government for not fixing the cracks in the NHS after a grandmother died in a hospital toilet.

Christina Chisholm collapsed after a four-hour wait inside an ambulance to be admitted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness in December.

She arrived at the hospital around 11pm with her daughters, Elizabeth McDonald and Grace Chisholm, to be told they were third in a queue of three.

The 91-year-old, who was having breathing difficulties and was feeling unwell due to a virus, was visited by an out-of-hours GP the previous night. She was shown a new way to use her inhaler to provide her relief.

The grandmother called her GP again to book another home visit, but was advised to call an ambulance.

While in the ambulance, she was given oxygen, which her daughters claimed to have made an immediate difference to her health.
