Apprentice boss in 'clock-off' call
WE work unpaid for 40 hours a month on average far more than other major European countries, a survey has found.
The French only put in an extra 24 hours, the Spanish 27 and in Germany it is 31.
But Americans are the true overtime leaders, where the typical employee toils for 60 unpaid hours a month - the highest in the world.
Researchers, who polled 13,000 workers across Europe and the US, found that staying late has risen for 37% of staff since the pandemic.
