Asylum seeker wins his appeal

AN asylum seeker has won an immigration case after switching his nationality from Iranian to Afghan in the middle of proceedings.

He won an appeal to have his case reheard after saying he was wrong to claim he was from Iran.

The migrant arrived in the UK in August 2012 and claimed asylum a month later.

He said he was in danger of persecution if returned to Iran as he left illegally and was of a minority faith.
