Artistic Anisimova targets glory after renaissance period

AMANDA Anisimova wants to create a Centre Court masterpiece today to claim the Wimbledon title.

The 23-year-old American, who was a teenage prodigy, took eight months away from tennis in 2023 for mental health reasons after admitting she was suffering from “burnout”.

She then revived her childhood passion for art — especially Vincent van Gogh - to help her see the bigger picture and sold her work to raise money for charities.

Now after returning to the sport ranked world No.373 last year, Anisimova will bid to brush off favourite Iga Swiatek and claim her first Grand Slam title.

And then paint London town red.
