What: The group stage draw for the 2026 World Cup (USA, Canada and Mexico).

Time: Coverage starts 5pm.

Where to Watch: Live on BBC Two and follow it all unfold on Record Sport's live blog from around 2.30pm.

HOW THE DRAW WORKS

The Format: This is the first World Cup with 48 teams (expanded from 32).

The Pots: Teams are split into four pots of 12 based on FIFA rankings.

The 12 groups will include one team from each of the four pots. FIFA will start by drawing teams from pot one.

Co-hosts Mexico (A1), Canada (B1) and the USA (D1) will have coloured balls and flags to denote special status. Group positions are predetermined to make sure they play all their games in their own countries. The draw will continue with two, three and four.
